aspen trees have an interesting system. every aspen tree in its given forest is the entire forest at once, roots connecting aspen trees that are identical. they're not different organisms, they're the same organism, millions of trees all as one.

i've always thought of a choir less as people who are each individually instruments but as one instrument. the person next to me is a pipe in the organ we all are. my own choir is satb (soprano/alto/tenor/bass), but there are divisis, or divides, in each section. i'm an alto two, the lowest treble voice, sharing the centre of the chord with the tenor ones. a node, a convergence.
